Why politics exists….a quote by Jacques Rancière

“Politics exists because those who have no right to be counted as speaking beings makes themselves of some account, setting up a community by placing in common a wrong that is nothing more than this very confrontation, the contradiction of two worlds in a single world: the world where they are and the world where they are not, the world where there is something ‘between’ and those who do not acknowledge them as speaking beings who count and the world where there is nothing”.

From the “Party of Personal Responsibility’ we bring you Ms Mary Brown, 56, from the great state of Florida. Mary here, who owned and operated a two-employee auto-repair shop in Panama City, Fla.,  is the lead plaintiff in the National Federation of Independent Business’s lawsuit to overturn The Affordable Healthcare Act, which is expected to be heard later this month by the lunatics of the Supreme Court. See, Mary she ain’t want insurance, Ain’t no uppity blackie tellin’ her what to do. But Ms Brown has a lot to answer for. It has been revealed that she accidentally neglected to inform the good folks over at NFIB that her rinky dink business went bankrupt. Why did Mary Brown – who I’m sure is a shrewd and brilliant entrepreneur par excellence – have to file for bankruptcy? Why does anyone go bankrupt? Unpaid medical bills, duh. Ms Personal Responsibility’s only income is $275 a month in unemployment benefits. Mary responded to the LA Times‘ inquiry  in customary Teabaggerly fashion of  hideous, inarticulate spewings of fat white rage.  [click to continue…]

On Tuesday  Sarah Palin Tuesday responded to CNN’s unoriginal question about if she’ll run for president in 2016 with a shrieky, “that’s a gotcha question, you caught me off guard” salad o’ words:

American blog owner Andrew Breitbart is dead. He was 43 years old, and reportedly died of “natural causes” in Los Angeles early this morning. We knew Breitbart — “we,” meaning many of us who have written for Wonkette, including young Riley Waggaman, pictured above at left — and he was a pleasant enough goofball in person. Breitbart was also a talented writer of headlines (it really is an art!) who worked anonymously for many years as Matt Drudge’s assistant on the West Coast. What he is known for today is the vile collection of websites that includes “Big Government,” and his rambling, slurring appearances on broadcast media. READ MORE

Went to the national library today, but my pictures are in my real camera from which I’ll have to extract them later or something like that. Needless to say, it is monumental. This was some totally awesome masterpiece of genius and photoshop that some student did for the library’s 300th anniversary:

In the area known as Embajadores, where my friend Eugenia lives, there’s a street called De la Ribera de Curtidores that houses 3 small leather and equestrian shops. They are tiny and filled with leather saddles and bridles, halters and bits and colorful saddle bags. They have great collections of leather bags, purses and briefcases, and a small but fab collection of equestrian boots, short and tall. My sister labeled this street the avenue of the short boots, for some reason. Inexplicably, all 3 of these stores also carry bird cages.
