{"id":32580,"date":"2016-01-19T13:03:09","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T21:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/teensleuth.com\/blog\/?p=32580"},"modified":"2016-01-21T19:43:08","modified_gmt":"2016-01-22T03:43:08","slug":"news-alert-republican-primary-voters-secretly-outwardly-really-really-racist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/teensleuth.com\/blog\/?p=32580","title":{"rendered":"NEWS ALERT: REPUBLICAN PRIMARY VOTERS SECRETLY (OUTWARDLY), REALLY, REALLY RACIST."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8LzT6My_48Q\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Remember Sausage Golem Frank Luntz? <em>You remember<\/em>, the GOP pollster muppet who had a\u00a0long, storied career of making shit up for GOP candidates, before becoming dillisusioned and wandering off into Hollywood Hills back in 2014, all the years of soaking in the corrosive environment of national politics having left him adrift in an existential midlife crisis? \u00a0While I deal with existential crisises by buying a horse, crying to my therapist and\/or whining to you, the sad, shlubby middle-aged bachelor\/communications genius retreated to his giant mansion, brooding in front of his 2000 inch flat-screen teevee aka the height of pathos. \u00a0Well, the Legion of Sociopaths over at Fox News didn\u2019t forget about him, they hired him as an &#8220;analyst&#8221;.\u00a0Last week on The Kelly File, \u00a0the toad led a discussion with an\u00a0in-house \u201cfocus group,\u201d aka bunch of angry white South Carolinians FN scraped off the street to scare their median-age-74 viewing audience into thinking the gays and blacks are coming to take their stuff, and to ask them why they\u00a0are \u201cmad as hell,\u201d (Frank&#8217;s own words). Weirdly, rather than discuss issues like healthcare costs, income inequality, stagnant wages, or student debt, all we heard about was white whining \u2013 the same shit that Fox would \u00a0be squawking about if any black people spoke that way about whites.\u00a0Luntz\u2019s \u201cfocus group\u201d turned out to have some incredibly terrible views about all things, dog whistling so hard, my poodle&#8217;s head exploded.<\/p>\n<p>Via <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" href=\"http:\/\/crooksandliars.com\/2016\/01\/fox-news-focus-group-member-complains-you\">Crooks and Liars<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat bothers me the most in this country is that you can\u2019t even speak the truth any more or else you\u2019ll be called a racist or a bigot or any other thing.\u201d\u2026There was significant applause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, political correctness, does that bother you?\u201d Luntz asked, as if in agreement with his focus group member that there\u2019s something wrong in trying not to be racially offensive.<\/p>\n<p>A woman sitting next to the \u201ctruthteller\u201d \u2013 both in the front row \u2013 said, \u201cIt bothers me very much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Because<\/em>\u2026\u201d Luntz probed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I have a right to my opinion without being labeled something. I mean, it\u2019s ridiculous,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>(Older white lady: Nothing is preventing you from speaking your mind. You just wants to speak her mind without blowback &#8211; in other words, by denying others the right to voice their opinions, something you feel entitled to but do not want to grant to others). But there&#8217;s more:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Somebody else called it \u201creverse discrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then there was this unfortunate or perhaps telling phrasing by a woman: \u201cAnyone who says anything has to watch everything they say and you can\u2019t label a spade a spade. Everyone is afraid to talk,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Funny how quickly the term &#8220;politically correct&#8221; has been co-opted by racist, bigots and misogynists. If they can&#8217;t call African Americans n***s, Hispanic spic&#8217;s, Arabs terrorists or ragheads, or women bitches, whores or cunts, it&#8217;s because society is too &#8220;sensitive&#8221;, then mumble something about affirmative action discriminating against &#8220;white people&#8221;. Just a word of advice, if the only time you feel comfortable voicing your opinion on African Americans\/Hispanics\/Muslims\/Women is when none of these are present, then you are a fucking racist\/bigot\/misogynist.<\/p>\n<p>One lady, though, managed to hit the issue on the head harder than anyone present:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Another woman said, \u201cWhat it really boils down for me is, the cultural change. I could have never imagined that in eight years of my country, I could have seen such a huge cultural change.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bonus points for identifying who the &#8220;we&#8221; is? Has<em> she<\/em> changed? Have her friends and family changed? Or is the &#8220;we&#8221; she is referring to the &#8220;they&#8221; &#8211; minorities and liberals and idiots like us, and not the &#8220;we&#8221; <em>she<\/em> belongs to &#8211; wingnutz and bigots, as she likely assumes little to no responsibility for whatever it is she is talking about.
