Because you get DNA from an aborted fetus. Of <em>course<\/em> you can,\u00a0but you miss out on all the fun of forcing a woman to carry her rapist&#8217;s baby to term.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/Sessions\/13%20Regular\/bills\/house\/HB0206.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">House Bill 206<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">,<\/span><\/strong> introduced by lunatic state Rep. Cathrynn Brown (R), would charge a rape victim who ended her pregnancy with a third-degree felony for <strong>\u201ctampering with evidence.\u201d<\/strong> Evidence, thy name is fetus. Specifically:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTampering with evidence shall include procuring or facilitating an abortion, or compelling or coercing another to obtain an abortion, of a fetus that is the result of criminal sexual penetration or incest with the intent to destroy evidence of the crime\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Third-degree felonies in New Mexico carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.\u00a0Prosecuting the victim is my favorite part of American law.<\/p>\n<p>This unconstitutional bill\u00a0turns victims of rape and incest into felons, incubators of evidence for the state. The unborn fetus are, in turn, \u201cevidence\u201d, like lipstick on a cigarette butt, or a semen-stained blue dress. I assume this means that\u00a0only rapes that result in pregnancy will be prosecuted, as if no evidence (fetus) could have possibly be formed during the alleged rape. There would be no semen tracing, no blood typing, no evidence at all, surely a woman\u2019s word would not suffice. Slut!\u00a0According to Republican philosophy, rape victims will now have to carry the fetus to term in order to prove that they were \u201clegitimately raped\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cathryyn (what the HELL king of spelling of Catherine is that?) Brown said in a statement today that she introduced the bill with the goal of punishing the person who commits incest or rape and then procures or facilitates an abortion to destroy the evidence of the crime, and that this heinous bill was to \u201chelp protect women cross our state\u201d. Or, as a trial run for Arizona next door??<\/p>\n<p>Way to go Rep. Brown, for this ignoble reach-around on a federal law. I guess the state would then be required to pay all the forced-into-birthchild\u2019s meals, doctor\u2019s appointments, clothing, insurance, housing ad tuition for the \u201clife of the evidence\u201d?\u00a0Maybe we can get a law passed that states: Any republican member of the house in New Mexico is required to let any form of illness\/injury remain untreated &amp; heal \u201cnaturally\u201d (as God intended) in order to receive insurance benefits.
