Milk carton heir Hans Kristian Rausing, has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife Eva.<\/p>\n

Hans, 49, boyishly Hitchensesque, is grandson to Ruben Rausing, a Swede who invented the milk carton in the 1960s. Han’s terrifying looking father, Hans senior<\/a>, is 6’8″ tall and was\u00a0ranked by Forbes in 2010 as the 64th richest man in the world.\u00a0Hans Sr brought his wife, 2 daughters and 1 son to England from Sweden in 1982 to protect his fortune from his homeland’s punitive taxes. Now\u00a081, Hans Sr is an eccentric who keeps a stuffed wolf in the conservatory of his 3,000 acre home \u00a0and breeds deer and wild boar.\u00a0The family money is an impenetrable web that has been widely invested through holdings understood to funnel back to Liechtenstein and the Cayman Islands.<\/p>\n

Hans K, as the son likes to be known so as not be confused with his father, is described as tall and, genial, a sometimes\u00a0heavily whiskered figure who is\u00a0a classic case of the toddling son overawed by his imposing father, with no particular talents or hobbies, who lives off an immense trust fund.\u00a0\u00a0When he was in his early twenties, Hans K decided to “drop out”, taking off for India where he developed a a taste for hippie hedonism.<\/p>\n

Eva\u00a0Louise Kemeny, a svelte and elegant blonde, was the America born daughter of <\/span>a\u00a0PepsiCo executive. She\u00a0was first introduced to drugs while studying at Occidental College, a private liberal arts college in my neighborhood of Eagle Rock, CA (Obama also attended Occidental, so he is thereby responsible for Eva’s death). Eva met Hans K at Farm Place, a \u00a32000-a-week rehab centre near London that was once described as Britain\u2019s answer to the Betty Ford Clinic.<\/p>\n

The couple had struggled for decades with addiction to hard drugs, narrowly escaping prison in 2008 after trying to smuggle heroin and crack cocaine into a reception at the American embassy in Grosvenor Square and more drugs were found at their home.\u00a0Criminal charges were dropped in favor of a conditional caution, because you know, rich. Nevertheless, the Rausings were exceedingly philanthropic,\u00a0donating millions of pounds to charities over a number of years, including some involving drug awareness and addiction prevention.<\/p>\n

The one glamorous and attractive couple had become increasingly\u00a0reclusive. Recently photographed as shells of their former selves, apparently living in only two squalid rooms of their\u00a0Belgravia\u00a0mansion.\u00a0She looked gaunt and lost. The once strapping Hans K was unrecognizable – stooped and disheveled, his clothes hanging off his now gaunt frame, his face ashen under a baseball cap.<\/p>\n

Eva’s body was found at their luxurious west London home – a terraced, five story wedding cake of a house\u00a0in\u00a0Belgravia<\/a>, one of London’s most expensive neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

Scotland Yard is studying\u00a0CCTV footage and Eva’s phone and email accounts to see when she last used them and whether or not Hans spent\u00a0time in the period when his wife was dead. \u00a0Speculation is that he\u00a0lived with Eva’s dead body for up to four days before it was discovered by polA post-mortem examination\u00a0failed\u00a0to reveal how Eva died and toxicology\u00a0and other tests are underway.\u00a0Hans K remains hospitalized receiving\u00a0treatment\u00a0for either a mental breakdown or alcohol withdrawal.\u00a0They have four teenage children.<\/p>\n
