Unusual Fashion Post.

I’ve just fainted.

I loathe red carpet gowns. LOATHE. I mean, can you imagine? Wearing one of those poofy rags? A peach Versace, with billowing sleeves wafting in the wind, or a McQueen gown, laden down in heavy gold embroideredry like a suit of armor? How about a gilded overload Givenchy or something from the Marchessa pageant crap line that makes beautiful young girls look hideous and sad, and lithe girls in their 20’s look matronly and stunned? Maybe a Armani midnigt blue silk chiffon princess gown or a chimerica, coral layered Louis Vuitton, the ruffles and the flouncy peplum aka ra-ra skirts and dresses of the 80’s? Hideous, hideous, hideous.

Now Kerry Washington looks good in everything – and has worn some pretty fantastic dresses – but this Giles Spring 2013 gown, worn to the UK premiere of Django Unchained, is simply the most spectacular dress I’ve ever seen. I’m not kidding. The tight bodice, the color against her skin, the print, the pouf, the length, the print, THE HORSE. THE HORSE. It’s simply too much.

I wouldn’t get married to Alexina Rose in anything but.
